Maya's First Flight

Tommy had to work in San Jose for a few weeks so Maya and I caught a flight to Sacramento to spend some time with my family. I thought I'd share some highlights of our trip.

Airplane Ride:
She did awesome! There was an empty seat between me and another lady, so she was able to move around some.

Smores:
We had to use Grandma and Grandpa's outside fire pit to make smores. It is a favorite activity for the grandchildren, although only the youngest two actually eat them. The other just like to roast marshmallows and make towers.

Yard Work:
Maya got to help Uncle Jake mow the lawn, and work on a tan. I thought the loud noise would bother her but she only cried when I took her off.

Slip and Slide:
I knew she was going to totally dig this, this girl LOVES water. She had a blast playing in the with her Cousins. Fallyn was such a good friend to her, she played with her the whole time. But of course it's all fun and games until someone gets hurt. Payton ended up with a bloody lip, nothing an Otter Pop couldn't fix.

Leatherby's Ice Cream:
Every Walker gathering has to include a Leatherby's trip, a favorite tradition of mine. We all look forward to the ice cream, caramel, and hot fudge. The grand kids on the other hand go for the quarter machines. Grandpa has added this to our Leatherby's tradition, he saves up all his quarters and lets the kids blow through them. He brought around $25 in quarters and they didn't even last a half hour.
Owen scouted out the stuffed animals first thing when we got there, he was determined to win Maya a pink elephant. Sure enough, it only took him maybe three tries and he did it. Thanks Owen, I am thrilled to have that thing in my house!

On the move

Maya and I went to the park with some friends yesterday, she was definitely the most excited and adventurous of the bunch. She constantly wanted to go down slides (introduced by her Daddy with sliding down the banister) and play on the swings. She was smiles and giggles the whole afternoon.

Here we go...

A week ago Maya started walking more than three steps on her own! She would only do it if we really encourage her but now she does it freely, we really have to keep a close eye on her now for her random "take offs."

This is a video of her last week.

(Please ignore the messy house, I was sewing all day)

Finally Warm Weather!

This girl LOVES the water. Grandma and Grandpa Jensen's pool is Maya's new favorite place to be. She loves to be thrown, go down the slide and splash. She giggles and smiles the whole time, it's going to be a fun summer!

Memorial Day

We headed down south to St. George with some of Tommy's family. We enjoyed the sunshine, relaxed, hiked, biked and loved being with family.

Cooling off from our hike...
