Little Love Bug

I realized it'd been a bit since I've posted anything. For all those needing a Maya fix, here is our little love bug helping me wrap daddy's Christmas presents today. She's been sticking her tongue out a lot lately. Humm, where have I seen a tongue out the side before... anyone know where she gets that from?

CONGRATULATIONS TIFFANY AND JOE!

Last week my friend Tiffany and her husband Joe were able to come out to Utah and adopt an adorable little boy. I was very excited to be able to meet and hold the little guy.

(Maya's not quite used to that flash!)

California Part 2

Tommy was able to fly out of and into Sacramento when he was in Denver. Maya and I got to spend another week with my family with Tommy with us! We loved not having to wear coats and avoiding the snow they got back home. Here are a few things we enjoyed while staying at grandma and grandpa Walker's house.

Maya helped grandpa put in a new toilet.

We visited the Sacramento Temple, where Tommy and I were married. We volunteered when we were dating and planted this tree together.

We decorated Halloween cookies at my cousin's house.

I got to visit with friends from High School.

Grandpa introduced Maya to all sorts of new things during our visit. Not twenty minutes after we arrived we found licorice in her mouth. She also got to eat Hershey Kisses, fudge, and In-N-Out fries and ketchup.

Halloween

Maya got to experience her first Halloween with her California cousins. Earlier in the week we crashed my brother Robby's ward Halloween party and got some delicious chili (made by Cami). Halloween night was spent at my sister Erin's house where we ate amazing scones (again, my sister-in-law Cami made them), watched the World Series, handed out candy (thanks Tommy) while the older kids trick or treated, stole candy from the kids' bags, and had a great time visiting.

California Fun

While Tommy was off working in Denver, Maya and I got to hang out in California with family and friends.

We got to join Mayce on her preschool fieldtrip to the pumpkin patch.

Maya played with cousins, cousins, and more cousins! She is getting A LOT of attention.

This morning we cheered for Fallyn and Scotty at their soccer game that they won. We are heading to Payton's game this afternoon.

We are loving the weather by the way!!

Lake Powell

We were able to go to Lake Powell for a long weekend with Tommy's family. It was fun spending time with his parents and a sister and brother's family. Maya had a lot to look at and it kept her very happy and entertained. It was cool while we were there, the water was warm but you get chilly when you get out because of wind (I was told, Maya and I did not get in). A storm was coming in Saturday night/ Sunday so we packed up and headed into the marina a little early, ended up being a very wise decision.

Thank you grandma and grandpa for a great trip and wonderful memories!

2 Months Doctor's Appointment

Maya had her bitter-sweet doctor's appointment this morning. We got good news that she is a "perfect baby." The doctor says that she excells in her flexibility, her ability to focus on me when I talk, starting to want to grab things, and drooling (My fault, I have a picture of me on my 2nd birthday with a ring of drool on my shirt). She weighs 11 lbs. 11 oz. (75%), 24" long (>95%), and her head circumference is 15 1/2" (60%). Hopefully, she will be tall and beautiful like my friend Tiffany.

The shots were so sad, but she was a trooper. She only cried for about five minutes and fell fast to sleep. Once she woke up from her nap and ate, she was her normal happy, talking, smiling self. She's just a little fussier than usual when falling asleep. Here are a couple pictures of my brave girl today.

2 Months

Maya is two months old today and smilier than ever.
Here's a picture of my beautiful girl today. She is starting to be more intrigued with the camera than me so it's hard to get a good smile picture, sorry for the goofy eye. She is the sweetest, happiest baby (except between the hours of six and nine, lucky for daddy it's just in time for him to take over). As long as she has a full tummy and not tired yet, she is happy to be in her swing, bouncer, or just laying on her back looking around. For those who don't know, Maya has always slept wonderfully in her crib at night. Naps during the day are a different story, she will only sleep on somebody. She'll be in a deep sleep, laid down in her crib and five minutes later she is screaming, I'll pick her up and she is out right a way. Just recently I've been able to get her to sleep in her stroller while I go walking or her swing while do an exercise video. It's funny when it comes to her swing, she always lasts exactly 30 minutes but I'll take it. I time it so she'll fall asleep at the end of my workout so I can run to the shower and start my hair and makeup before she wakes up. Thank you girl's camp for teaching me how to shower quickly!

Here is her latest trick:

Rolling over already?
For a few weeks we have been finding Maya on her side and completely turned around in her crib when she wakes up to eat (by the way, she's been giving me 7 hour stretches at least three times a week, yeah!). We swaddle her up so I figured that must help her scoot around and turn easier. Just yesterday when I put her on the ground to change a diaper at grandma and grandpa's house I discovered her new trick. She showed off more that night at home and again today. She can't quite make it all the way over (darn shoulder!) but she is good getting on her side.

Labor Day Weekend

Tommy and I decided to drive to Sacramento to surprise my mom and sister for the Labor Day weekend. We let my dad in on the secret, along with my brothers. My sister has never met Maya and has been DYING to meet her, my mom has been missing her baby tons. We left Wednesday when Tommy got off work, as you can see Maya is excited about the drive. The plan was to stop in Winnemucca, Nevada for the night but when we got there to gas up Tommy felt good and wanted to keep on going, so we did. Maya did AMAZING in the car there and back. She was happy and slept the majority of the drive. We snuck into my parents' house around 3:30 am without being detected (my mom heard us but thought it was my younger brother). Around 6:00 am grandpa took Maya and laid her in bed with grandma. It was a welcomed surprise! My mom called my sister to come over later that morning and she heard a baby's little cry, she was thrilled to meet Maya.

The weekend was filled with a trip to the Denio's Auction, In N' Out meals, Break the Fast with my dad's singles ward, and many new memories with family and friends.
Here are a snap shots of the fun we had...

Daddy and Maya recovering from the long drive the night before.

Maya with her cousin Payton. Payton even got Maya to fall asleep one night with her on her lap and shaking her legs. Good technique Payt!

The bikers. My family enjoys going on bike rides, we took the Honda and Tommy's bike doesn't fit. Sorry babe!

Sawyer wanted to take Maya along for the ride in his pack.

My friends Jenifer and Tiffany came by to visit and give Maya some loves.

Enjoying some peanuts picked up from the auction. They enjoyed cracking them more than eating them, Payton and Fallyn would crack them and give them to Macye and my dad to eat.

The girls had a nail party while the boys watched the BYU game.

Giggles and Pictures

Maya has started to do this giggle thing lately. She does it the most when she is in the car (I think it started when I put a mirror back there). I caught her doing it yesterday while she was looking at her bug friend on her swing, she cracks me up. Here is a real quick video of it.

Here are a couple photos of our little lady from this past week.
She is getting so big, developing chubby cheeks and thighs.

Bath time with mommy and daddy. We took a break from the tub for a bit and tried it again Sunday. Success!

I love her in this outfit. Tommy says that I treat her like my little doll, I just cannot resist the cute bows!

Shout out to lil' brothers

My youngest brother, Sawyer, turned 23 years old today, man I'm getting old. We love you Saw and hope you had a great day. I'm sure Maddie spoiled you!

Can you guess who this is?

It is my other younger brother, Jake. He is an alumnus of BYU and is in on the secret society of Cosmo, the BYU mascot. He is not the mascot, he can't do tricks or flips (at least not to my knowledge). He knows who Cosmo is but isn't allowed to reveal that information. His life could be at stake!

Cute Smiles

I was able to catch the tail end of a few smiles today with Maya. She is constantly smiling at us now, her favorite spot is on her changing pad after a diaper change.
I just can't get enough of this adorable baby!
