Maya's Playhouse

Growing up I remember loving to play in a house that my mom made us using a card table. With help from my sister and mom, we were able to make Maya one too. We looked on the Internet for ideas and copied a picture of one that we liked.

Getting carrots from the garden:

Picking apples off the tree:

This is how the girls spent their time while we sewed:

Thank you mom and Erin. We love it!

Family Gathering

While in Cali this past week we met up with my dad's side of the family, at Leatherby's for ice cream of course!

The kids took advantage of grandpa and his quarters again. Here they are with their prizes and goodies.

Classic picture of Payton, love it!

We had two rows of tables for our crew, chatting before the good stuff arrived.

Maya loved my aunt's!
I got to meet my newest nephew, Drake (4 weeks old), on this trip. He was totally digging my aunt's kisses.

Ouch!!

Maya tripped and fell on the rug by the front door last night. She fell right on her face, her cheek getting most of the damage. Unfortunately, rug is scratchy so it roughed her up pretty good. A neighbor's dog came by for a visit soon after so luckily the tears didn't last long.

Her cheek and bottom lip are still a little swollen today but, it is looking better!

New Discovery

Today I looked over and witnessed Maya discovering how to take her pants off! Here's a video of it, please excuse the mess, she was clearing out all the computer desk drawers.

A few other things Maya has been up to:
She still loves the water, she usually ends up soaked before bedtime (with daddy's help).

She is climbing up on everything and loves to get in things.

She loves to pick things from the garden, even when they are not quite ready, and asks to go out there every day.

She has become a good little helper.

It seems like she starts saying a new word and animal sound every day. We love this beautiful, smart girl!

Tommy's Grandpa Jensen was honored as the Grand Marshall at the Ogden, Utah Pioneer Day festivities this year. We went to celebrate and cheer his grandparents on in the parade this morning.

My cute family! I made Maya a shirt and bonnet for the event (My sister-in-law showed me this shirt on-line. It has a big bow in the back, cute huh?). I have to say, she was ADORABLE!!

Playing with cousins, she loved Jerika's wagon.

Had to snap a picture of the pioneers, it is Pioneer Day.

She was tuckered out and fell asleep on her aunt Tori, even slept through gunshots and marching bands. Way to go Tor!

Happy Birthday Maya!

Maya is getting so big!

We celebrated Maya's 1st birthday by going the zoo for the first time. Grandma Jensen, Grandpa Jensen and Aunt Tori braved the heat with us and made it even more enjoyable.

She was VERY spoiled with gifts...
Tommy and I got her a pool.

Thank you aunts, uncles, grandmas and grandpas! You were all very kind and WAY TOO generous, she was excited about all your gifts.

She was not shy about her cake. She didn't even wait for her highchair, she dug right in as soon as the candle was blown out. I made her a monkey cake to go along with our zoo adventure.

Thank you again every one who helped to celebrate her special day!

4th of July Weekend

Maya's first 4th of July was celebrated with housework, family, pigtails, swimming, and the LDS missionaries.
Saturday morning started off with Tommy installing a ceilling fan in Maya's room.
Maya sported pigtails for the first time.
On our way out the door to Grandma and Grandpa Jensen's house.
The afternoon and evening were spent swimming, visiting and eating yummy food with the people we love!
Wiped out from a fun filled day.
Sunday morning, heading to church with daddy!
Later that evening we had the missionaries over for dinner.
